CHAS, is an artist living and working in New York City. Her oeuvre is a mixture of Zen artifacts and side shows antics. She creates large-scale installations & site-specific works using cast and blown glass as the primary construction material. But, Ms. Czeresko is also the brainchild of the “World’s Largest Hand Blown Glass Ornament” executed in 2006. Now, Ms. Czeresko is dedicated to bringing the aesthetic of the comical sublime to the art of Mastication.
KOS was born in the same hospital in Jamaica Queens as the infamous Paul Bowles and went to the same ancient JAMAICA HIGH SCHOOL and wishes her path led her to ancient North Africa and toward youthful Janes Bowles. Kos follows the philosophy of the great New York writer Joseph Mitchell, "I intend to stroll and ponder, stroll and ponder". Kos has wandered and falneured throughout many states and many countries from Krumville, NY State to Spandau, Germany. Her philosophy is "keep moving". "Keep moving your life to another city, another country, another level, another dimension, just keep moving".
Between holding court at the CHELSEA ART CLUB Dining room in London (her best job ever!) and an apprentice to a goat cheese farmer (2nd best job) she continues to struggle in these insane times of holographic inputs, with vast visions of starting a business that will fund a foundation for kids living in war-torn areas starting with Palestine. She has created BUDDHAHOOD, a t-shirt and hood company in order to begin this vision. In the meantime, Kos continues to learn great lessons from certain shamans in Peru and Colombia, the Ayahuasca plant, Sogyal Rinpoche, Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, and Fred the homeless guy, inspired and astonished by Nina Hagen, Rosa Parks, Tallulah Bankhead, The Innocence Project, Clive Stafford Smith, Kieslowski, Sokurov, Rilke, Kim Ki Duk, Claire Denis, Terrence Malick, Tsai Ming Liang, Bruno Ganz, Armin Mueller Stahl, Robby Mueller, Kathy Acker, Cookie Mueller, Jacques Lusseyran, Robert Mitchem, Patti Smith and tons of others….blah blah right? and looks forward to more expeditions and adventures in this very extraordinary dimension and hopefully all the other ones out there, while masticating of course!
